ATM over WDM Networking

New multi-service ATM switching technology has the functionality of standard transmission equipment such as SDH ADMs and DXCSs. Capabilities necessary to provide ADM functionality, traditional multiplexing, grooming, protection, and direct fiber interface to WDM equipment are available in ATM switches (Fig.3).
